kind of a strange week in the shop - with the election at the beginning and kids out of school for teacher's convention at the end, everyone seems a bit out of sorts. typically customers ask about everything holiday the minute after halloween, even sometimes before. this year there's been a little bit of delay and i'm noticing that the shopping is more about generally lifting the spirits. this actually works for me, because i'm the slowest in getting my holiday presentation together - there are just a million tiny details to pull off, and since we do the custom holiday cards, invitations, wrappings and packaging as well as gifts, it just goes in so many directions. i also love thanksgiving, and always feel that it gets neglected, sandwiched between halloween and christmas. so for now, we celebrated by putting together a tempting table of harvesty goods, fit for a feast.
in the meantime, here pictures is the latest acqusition for my overgrown inspiration library. the french primer is gorgeous, the boys and girls bookshelf is chock full of image splendour, and the bird children, well, is truly one of the best finds in such a long time. given my latest obsession with morphed animal- headed characters, it will be very useful for some upcoming projects. my hubby adam found these fabulous old books this weekend, along with some goodly holiday trimmings. more pics during the week.
ta ta for now.
